Welcome to Steamboat NATCHEZ
From New Orleans, LA
The Str. NATCHEZ, built in 1975 and hailing from New Orleans, LA, is one of the last true sternwheel steamboats left operating on the Mississippi River system. She is the 9th steamer to bear this historic name; a descendent of the famous NATCHEZ that raced the ROBT.E. LEE in 1870. Our NATCHEZ has never lost a steamboat race in 50 years of operations, cementing her legacy as the "Greyhound of the Western Rivers". She is 265 feet long, 44 feet wide, and has a shallow draft of 6 feet. Her engine room is open to the public on all cruises, and we welcome folks to come check out our antique 1925 tandem-compound, reciprocating steam engines in action. The NATCHEZ is the epitome of Southern class and hospitality, and we're honored to bring the excitement and mystery of Mardi Gras from New Orleans to America’s River Roots! Welcome aboard, y'all!
